All you need to know about the Crosscall Core Z5 smartphone.
Overview
Crosscall offers waterproof and durable Android phones, smartphones with long battery life and accessories. The Company's phones are created mainly for outdoor activities, and this different approach has been the key to its success and growth.
Launched in October 2022, the Crosscall Core Z5 is the first 5G smartphone specifically designed and developed for the most challenging environments. This device is compatible with the latest networks, such as 5G and WiFi 6/6E, and has an impressive 5-year warranty.
The ViserMark Tiers break down the various pricing of Smartphones. The Crosscall Core Z5
joins the Flagship/Pro Tier (€700+); its rugged design makes it waterproof, durable and equipped with an extensive battery life. Rugged smartphones are not fitted with OLED screens like other flagship devices, nor do they have some of the features expected as standard for the price tag. The Crosscall Core Z5 is no exception and has a 6.08-inch IPS LCD with only 1520 x 720-pixel quality and a 60 Hz refresh rate. However, the smartphone has four customisable buttons on the side panel, allowing convenient shortcuts to frequently used applications, even wearing gloves. Finally, the X-TALK function can transform the smartphone into a walkie-talkie or be used as a compass or GPS.
The Crosscall Core Z5 is powered by a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm QCM6490 Octa-Core processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage capacity, meaning it can handle extreme usage requirements. Crosscall decided to fit a 4950mAh battery that can enable a 20% better performance than similar flagship smartphones. One unique feature is a low-battery indicator light, giving you time to charge the smartphone if required. Also, the reverse charging function allows the Crosscall Core Z5 to charge other devices, such as a flashlight or headphones.
In addition, the Crosscall Core Z5 boast an incredibly powerful loudspeaker that is louder than the average. This makes it perfect for use in even the noisiest environments. Having noise cancellation as standard, you can enjoy clear conversations with excellent listening comfort.
The ample polycarbonate rubber layer encircling the device is engineered to resist falls up to two meters. This explains why the screen occupies only 65% of the front and is shielded by Gorilla Glass 5. Crosscall has also infused the screen, making it resistant to saltwater and other liquids such as chlorinated water, engine oil, and corrosive products. Crosscall Core Z5 is designed with gloves of varying materials, is IP68 rated, and meets the MIL-STD-810 standard, guaranteeing dust resistance.
Crosscall Core Z5 is supplied with a USB-C charging cable and an X-Blocker (This unique support piece, entirely designed by the Crosscall development teams, allows you to attach your device to the numerous X-LINK™ accessories. Only phones and tablets equipped with X-LINK™ technology are compatible with this accessory) and Charger 9V/2A fast charging.
The USB-C and 3.5mm mini-jack ports have plastic tabs to protect them, which provide excellent water resistance without being excessively hard to open.

What is the Crosscall Core Z5 Performance Score?
The Crosscall Core Z5 achieved a ViserMark Battery Performance score of 47 out of 100.
How does the Crosscall Core Z5 compare to Flagship Tier smartphones?
In our testing, the battery performance test results delivered an overall score of
47 out of a hundred for the Crosscall Core Z5. When viewing the ViserMark Flagship/Pro Tier (€700+) tier, Samsung has one comparable rugged smartphone with similar results, as shown in the chart below.
The Crosscall Core Z5 obtained an impressive overall battery performance score of 47. As you can see, the comparable Samsung Galaxy XCover scored 34. The test results were also compared with the average Flagship/Pro Tier (€700+) to benchmark the battery performance of similar-priced smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro is a rugged and heavy-duty smartphone. It is more appealable than other smartphones within this area, although it is only shipped in black and has 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage. A 6.3-inch high-resolution display suits it well for viewing photos and maps, providing good contrast and brightness. It is fair to say this has been one of its best features. With increased touch sensitivity, gloves can be worn at all times, and meeting both IP68 and MIL-STD 810G standards, it is ideally suited for field-based professionals or manufacturing
Designed and developed as a rugged smartphone, the Crosscall Core Z5 exceeds expectations when meeting critical environments. However, it has benefited from technology developments, such as improved processor power and the latest compatibility of 5G and WiFi 6/6E.
All smartphones are thoroughly tested and verified by SmartViser. Every smartphone has a review written by ViserMark, which provides all the battery performance test results translated into ViserMark Labels.
