Overview
The Realme Narzo 50, launched in February 2022 offers great value for money. It runs UI 3.0, which is based on Android 12 and has benefited from multiple upgrades and improved technology integrations introduced by Realme. As a result, the Realme Narzo 50 has gained a smoother performance. Being much more responsive when moving between apps, it has enhanced animations and always-on-display. A privacy indicator introduced by Google is included, and additional privacy features are included in the new UI 3.0 as well.
The 6.6-inch IPS display on the Realme Narzo 50 with an FHD+ resolution, a 180Hz touch sampling rate and a 120Hz refresh rate provides smooth graphics. Perhaps, a particularly good choice for gamers on a tight budget, it offers a Gaming Mode where you can customise the themes and alerts preferences for your games. Also, all distractions like notifications, calls, and messages can be disabled - often a great plus!
At the price, there may be a few limitations. The brightness levels appear to be enough for indoor use for providing natural colours and decent contrast, however, reading the screen in direct sunlight is difficult. This is due to the Realme Narzo 50 having an LCD screen, so the viewing angles are limited, and the colour profiles are less saturated than on standard OLED displays.
Having a Kevlar Speed Texture Design (a race car-inspired design), the Realme Narzo 50 is available in Speed Blue and Speed Black. The material pattern on the Realme Narzo 50 is strikingly like that of a OnePlus device. On the rear, there's a carbon fibre-like pattern that looks pretty good in the sunlight. The rest of the aesthetic is substantially like previous Narzo phones. The phone has a side-mounted power button, a fingerprint sensor on the right edge, and a volume rocker and SIM card slot on the left. The bottom section includes a 3.5mm headphone socket, a speaker grille, and a charging port.
The three-camera configuration in the back, led by a 50-megapixel f/1.8 lens, produces high-quality photographs suitable for printing and sharing on social media. The front side has a selfie camera lens in the top left corner.
Being classified as a Mid Tier (€200-€499), smartphone, Realme has introduced this phone into a competitive arena. If you are looking for a smartphone powered by a Helios G96 processor, up to 6GB of RAM, and a 5000mAh battery, for daily use and gaming, then this mobile phone is an option. However, if you need a high-quality camera and 5G connectivity then perhaps consider an alternative.
