NEW BATTERY CONSUMPTION

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G battery review with viSer and VWS Analytics Studio

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G battery life details, as analysed using SmartViser's viSer and VWS Analytics Studio, provide a technical and detailed perspective on the smartphone's battery consumption. The platform's capability to monitor and access real-time test results explains how the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G manages power under various daily user tasks.

ViserMark can identify the strengths and weaknesses of smartphones by comparing battery usage across similar devices, enabling potential buyers to choose the best smartphone based on their usage patterns.

We compare the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G's energy consumption with the industry's average Mid Tier (€200-€499) smartphone across a range of everyday activities to see how it performs in milliampere hours (mAh).

Based on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G battery consumption in different daily tasks, the smartphone tends to consume more power than the average Mid Tier smartphone across activities that generally demand more from the hardware, like gaming, camera use, and social media. This could indicate that its hardware is optimised for performance, which may appeal to users who want a more responsive experience.

Additionally, the higher power consumption during media playback and social media tasks might indicate that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G has a more power-intensive screen, which can impact battery life. The higher consumption during calls and data transfers suggests that the modem or antenna design could be more powerful or less efficient than the average. However, for less intensive tasks like email, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G manages power similarly to other Mid Tier smartphones.

In conclusion, the battery usage results reflect that the software optimisation as the MIUI may not be as finely tuned for power efficiency as some other UIs on Android, leading to higher overall battery usage. Despite the higher usage in many areas, the phone's charging time is significantly lower than the average thanks to its fast charging capability, which can offset the higher power consumption for some users.

Overall, the comparison demonstrates the importance of understanding individual usage patterns when choosing a smartphone. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is an excellent choice for users who demand top performance and have access to regular charging. For those with more average use cases or longer times between charges, other smartphones with better battery efficiency may be worth considering.

Battery Consumption Results provided by viSer developed SmartViser.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G competes well with the Mid Tier average, offering a commendable balance of performance and battery life. Its standout feature is its rapid charging time, which benefits users on the go. However, its battery efficiency and annual energy consumption are areas where it does not perform as well as the average, which could be a consideration for power users or those concerned about electricity usage.

Analysing Battery Efficiency:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G vs Samsung Galaxy A54 Smartphone Comparison

Analysing the comparison of the smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G consumes more power than the Samsung Galaxy A54 during most activities. It has a higher battery drain during calls, gaming sessions, data transfer tasks, video streaming, and media playback. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is more power-efficient in MMS, camera, text messaging, and web browsing. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G may be a better choice for users who are prioritising performance over battery life. The Samsung Galaxy A54 may be a better choice for those who want longer battery life.

Factors contributing to the differences in battery performance between the two smartphones are display technology, processor efficiency, software optimisation, peripheral hardware, connectivity, usage patterns, and charging technologies.

Analysing Battery Efficiency:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G vs Realme Narzo 50 Smartphone Comparison

The comparison between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G and the Realme Narzo 50 regarding battery performance across various tasks indicates that the Realme Narzo 50 is generally more efficient in power management for most everyday tasks.

The test results suggest that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G has a higher battery consumption during gaming, video streaming, and web browsing, which may indicate a more powerful processor or higher-spec display. On the other hand, the Realme Narzo 50 has lower battery usage in several categories, which suggests that it has more aggressive power management strategies or software optimisations. The Realme Narzo 50's higher power consumption when using the camera implies that it utilises more advanced imaging processes or higher-resolution sensors. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G's MIUI offers a richer UI with more background services running.

The higher power consumption for tasks that require internet connectivity could indicate less efficient background synchronisation or higher power usage using communication features. Finally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G has many customisation options that can impact battery life if not managed correctly. At the same time, the Realme Narzo 50 might have a more conservative approach to default settings to extend battery life.

Several additional insights emerge:

Charging Technologies The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G quick rapid charging may encourage usage patterns that involve frequent, rapid top-ups, offsetting its higher power consumption in various tasks.

Energy Management Features: The Samsung Galaxy A54 may have energy-saving features such as adaptive power saving and a more conservative approach to background processes and network usage, which helps it maintain lower consumption rates closer to the Mid Tier average.

User Preferences and Priorities: While the Realme Narzo 50 generally consumes less power in most tasks, its significantly higher camera usage indicates that users interested in mobile photography should be prepared for more frequent charging. However, its efficiency in other areas could balance this higher consumption for some users.

Battery Life: Smartphones run with higher battery usage and may experience faster battery wear. Users who keep their phones longer may want to consider phones like the Samsung Galaxy A54, which aligns closer to the Mid Tier average in energy consumption, possibly contributing to better long-term battery health.

Device Optimisation: Manufacturers often release software updates that can improve battery life. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G's higher consumption could be refined with future updates, enhancing its efficiency.

In conclusion, while test results provide a starting point, the real-world experience will be the ultimate test of battery performance. Users should consider their specific needs, whether performance, longevity or a balance of both when deciding between these smartphones. Each phone offers distinct advantages; the best choice depends on the user's priorities.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is an attractive choice for its outstanding 6.67-inch AMOLED display, boasting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, perfect for those who want vibrant and sharp visuals. Performance-wise, it's a powerhouse with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, ensuring smooth handling of gaming and multitasking. It's a suitable choice for users looking for a feature-rich phone at a reasonable price. However, consider other options if battery life or camera quality is important. I bought this phone last February in the Philippines as it was recommended as Redmi's top phone.

I'm still waiting for Android 14 & Hyper OS.

My last Security Patch is dated January 1st 2024. That's disgusting.

Battery & camera both not good.
