The GOOGLE PIXEL 7 PRO - A Big Smartphone that Does Deliver SMARTPHONE TIER: FLAGSHIP Battery Capacity mAh: 5000 Smartphone Battery Performance Overall Score: 32/100 Overall Battery Performance Score: Ranking #99 Flagship Tier Ranking: Ranking #9 Credit Image: Google We have listed what you need to know about the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Overview Google has added another Pixel 7 smartphone to their range - the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro are impressive Flagship/Pro devices and compete with other smartphones within the Flagship Tier (€700+). The Google Pixel 7 Pro is a sequel. It has the same size, shape, and overall design as its predecessor, the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Being a great and well-designed smartphone, it captures beautiful images at night and during the day. With exceptional camera features, this smartphone can deliver high-quality pictures. With its Tensor G2 chipset specialised for Google-specific AI functions, the Google Pixel 7 Pro shows all-around responsiveness. Improvements made to speech recognition regarding its accuracy, Google Assistant is much more beneficial than previously and multiple languages can be interrupted efficiently. Also, the Tensor G2, which has enhanced graphics rendering compared to its predecessor, runs the Android 13 UI smoothly, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient user experience. This is a quick summary of the Google Pixel 7 Pro for you: Product - Good Points · Excellent camera performance - Sharp display · Well-designed smartphone - Google Sofware Tensor G2 - Technology upgrade pledge Product - Be Aware of Points · Battery performance could be better - Slow charging · HDR sharing is restricted - Connectivity improvements required Smartphone Battery Performance Score and Battery Results We have designed and developed Battery Performance Labels to help Smartphone users. Translated into the ViserMark Labels displayed below are the battery test results for the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Look at the review by ViserMark based on the results during testing. You can find the full results of our battery performance testing below: Smartphone Battery Performance Overall Score: The Battery Performance Label shows a score between 0 and 100. It reflects the performance based on independent, repeatable, and rigorous testing. Using various testing criteria, measured using real-life scenarios and live networks, results are collated with calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency, and Charging results that amount to the total score. In the Flagship Tier (€700+). The Google Pixel 7 Pro achieved 32 out of 100 for battery performance; therefore, it is positioned in the bottom half of the table for battery performance scores compared with previous 2022 scores. The Google Pixel 7 Pro compares very well with another Google Pixel 7 mobile phone. The Google Pixel 7 was recently tested by ViserMark and obtained just 2 points more with 34 out of 100. Although only gaining a slight margin on battery performance scores, the Google Pixel 7 is suited to people looking for better value and a slightly smaller smartphone to hold. The Samsung S22 is also in the Flagship Tier (€700+) and has a higher battery performance score than both Google mobile phones, with 36 out of 100. When comparing this smartphone with the Google Pixel 7 Pro, Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series almost a year ago in February 2022. With the pending release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone range, we look forward to delivering the battery performance reviews very shortly. So, how will the Google Pixel 7 Pro compare with the Samsung S23? The Apple brand remains in the top places with 72 and 53 out of 100, respectively, for the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max and Apple iPhone 13 Pro, which both have impressive overall battery performances in the Flagship Tier (€700+). Viewed in the Flagship Tier Ranking table are more Battery Performance Scores. Battery Life Battery Life - How long will this Smartphone battery last? Look at our updated Battery Life ViserMark Label. This label displays the “Days-of-Use” in both actual days and provides even more accurate information in hours. It reflects the usage of a smartphone from a full charge. When looking at the Flagship/Pro Tier, most devices can last for 1.5 days of usage, with the exceptions being the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max with 3.5 days of battery life and the Apple iPhone 13 Pro with one day less, with 2.5 days of battery life. The Google Pixel 7 has a lower battery capacity of 4355mAh than the Google Pixel 7 Pro, which has the typical 5000mAh. During our testing, ViserMark expected the Google Pixel 7 Pro to deliver better battery performance. Both devices achieved 1.5 days of usage, lower than other Flagship/Pro Tier smartphones we have tested. Even though the Samsung S22 also delivers 1.5 days of usage, it has an even smaller battery capacity of only 3700mAh - remarkable! Google does state that Pixel’s Adaptive Battery can last over 24 hours – and up to 72 hours when you turn on Extreme Battery Saver. However, this feature disables various features, including 5G connectivity. Our battery performance protocol ensures that we measure and evaluate key areas of user experience, with all default testing performed under strictly controlled conditions without Battery Saver features enabled. View the Days of Usage table and see what other smartphones made it into the Top Ten. Charging Times Battery Charging Time - How long will this smartphone take to charge? Time varies when charging different types and sizes of smartphone batteries. Expressed in Hours and Minutes. Unfortunately, the Google Pixel 7 Pro has a slow charging time of 3 hours and 22 minutes, which exceeds that of the Google Pixel 7, which is 2 hours and 51 minutes, and the Samsung S22 takes 2 hours and 36 minutes. The Google Pixel 7 and the Google Pixel 7 Pro support 30W fast wired charging, but the maximum speed of wireless charging can vary. Comparison of SmartPhones in the FlagshipTier Viewed in the Charging Times table. Power Efficiency Power Efficiency - How power efficient is this smartphone? Maximising the smartphone performance while reducing the energy it consumes, with minimal impact on battery life. Calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity and expressed in “Leaves", it reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power efficient. Many Flagship/Pro smartphones are predicted to reach a rating of 1 out of 5 for battery efficiency. Included are the Google Pixel 7 and Samsung S22 smartphones. However, the Google Pixel 7 Pro falls short in its performance and has achieved only 0.5 out of 5 as a rating. Once again, the Apple brand leads with higher power efficiency devices. The most battery-efficient smartphones will provide good battery life and reduce the number of times the battery will need to be charged, harming its longevity. Viewed in the Power Efficiency table are more Power Efficiency Scores. Annual Energy Consumption Power Consumption - How much energy does this smartphone use? All smartphones use energy, and although it is only a small amount, each smartphone varies in consumption. The Google Pixel 7 Pro is calculated to use 4.4 kWh per annum, taken from the ViserMark Battery Performance testing. For the first time, end-users will see an objective benchmark across all devices on their expected annual electricity consumption. Should I buy it? The Google Pixel 7 Pro is a Flagship/Pro smartphone with feature-rich functionality, an excellent camera and high-end reliability and performance. Even though it carries a high price tag of $899, it remains a true competitor in the Flagship smartphone market. It has improved photography features and uses Google Pixel software, offering secure and reliable performance. Even though it lacks connectivity and battery life performance, loyal Andriod users will still purchase the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The Google Pixel 7 Pro is currently the best smartphone introduced by Google. Here at ViserMark, we look forward to comparing this smartphone review to the Apple iPhone 14, which will be available shortly. This "Ear (1) phone" system uses the phone's back panel to display various notifications and messages and a series of glyphs that appear around the edges of the display to alert users to incoming calls, messages, and other notifications. The notifications are displayed using a set of 32,000 microscopic LEDs that light up to form glyphs representing different notifications. The glyphs are designed to be unobtrusive and blend in with the user's environment. Its "Ear (1) Buds" are wireless earbuds that can connect to the phone via Bluetooth. When the Ear (1) Buds are connected, the phone can display notifications on the earbuds themselves, which is a novel way to stay connected without checking your phone constantly. It reflects the performance based on independent, repeatable, and rigorous testing. Using various testing criteria, measured using real-life scenarios and live networks, results collated with calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency and Charging results that amount to the total score. The design of the Nothing Phone 1 is focused on minimalism to create a device that blends in with the user's environment and doesn't distract from their daily life. The phone's unique design features a transparent glass back panel, allowing users to see the device's internal components. One of the standout features of the Nothing Phone 1 is the "inverted notch" or "hole" in the top centre of the screen that displays notifications and other information using symbols and glyphs. This feature has been praised for being innovative and creative. Overall, the Nothing Phone 1 offers a good balance of design and functionality, with unique features that set it apart from other smartphones. Within the ViserMark Mid Tier (€200-€499), the Nothing Phone 1 competes closely with the Xiomi Reedmi Note 11 Pro and the Realme Narzo 50 when comparing battery performance, as shown in the chart below. In our recent smartphone review, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro leads with a higher battery performance score of 50 out of 100, offers good value for money, and is IP53-rated. The Realme Narzo 50 presented specific gaming features, smooth performance and excellent smartphone battery life, although no 5G option exists. Other smartphone battery performance results can be seen in the Mid Tier Ranking table. Battery Life Battery Life - How long will this Smartphone battery last? The Battery Life ViserMark Label displays the “Days-of-Use” in both actual days and provides accurate information in hours. It reflects the usage of a smartphone from a full charge. The Nothing Phone 1 has a bright, colourful, and sharp display, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and animations smooth. The phone also has a "monochrome mode" feature, which turns the display black and white to reduce distractions. Overall, the display is one of the highlights of the Nothing Phone 1, offering an immersive experience for media consumption and everyday use. With a battery capacity of 4,500 mAh, this smartphone performs very well to achieve 2 Days of Use. When we tested the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro and Realme Narzo 50, both obtained the same 2 Days of Usage despite having a larger battery capacity; there are only 5 hours separately for all three devices. Other smartphone battery performance results can be seen in the Mid Tier Ranking table. Charging Times Battery Charging Time - How long will this smartphone take to charge? Time varies to charge different types and sizes of Smartphone batteries. They are expressed in Hours and Minutes. The Nothing Phone 1 supports 33W wired charging, although it struggles to have a fast charging time. Compared to the Redmi Note 11 Pro, which supports 67W charging, Xiaomi claims zero to 50% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 42 minutes. Please view all the smartphone Charging Times from our testing results. Power Efficiency Power Efficiency - How power efficient is this smartphone? It maximises the smartphone's performance while reducing the energy it consumes, with minimal impact on battery life. Calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity and expressed in “Leaves", it reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power efficient. When tested, most mid-range smartphones, including the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro and Realme Narzo 50, gain a 1 out of 5 battery efficiency score. The test results for the Nothing Phone 1 showed a score of 1.5, deeming this smartphone more efficient. More Power Efficiency can be viewed. Annual Energy Consumption Power Consumption - How much energy does this smartphone use? All smartphones use energy, and although it is only a small amount, each smartphone varies in consumption. Our results calculated that the Nothing Phone 1 would use only 3.0 kWh per Annum; both other comparable devices, when tested, showed more usage in consumption. Comparison of Smartphones in the Mid Tier Through the ViserMark testing protocol, end-users can see an objective benchmark across all devices on their smartphone's expected annual electricity consumption. Should I buy it? Nothing has introduced a smartphone that is attractive and delivers - not bad for their first attempt at entering the market. The smartphone is well-built and performs well in day-to-day use, but it may not be as powerful as other high-end smartphones. With a unique and refreshing design and solid specifications, the phone is very original, which helps it stand out above the rest. Providing better battery life and a sharp display, overall, it is an all-round performer, although slightly lacking in camera quality. As a new smartphone, this device has most of the basics in place that end-users expect. With a small start and more developments planned, solid foundations continue to be built. However, the price tag may be steep for some end-users, especially considering the lack of a headphone jack or expandable storage. • Google Pixel 4 XL - Smartphone Battery Performance

The Google Pixel 4 XL - Smaller Smartphone with Improved Camera Performance SMARTPHONE TIER: FLAGSHIP/PRO Battery Capacity mAh: 3700 Smartphone Battery Performance: Ranking #49 With a Battery Performance Score close to 50 this Smartphone is positioned halfway in the Flagship/ProTier Ranking Table. Battery Performance Testing and Review - September 2021 Product Since the first Nexus phones, every year, Google has introduced its vision of the essential while efficient smartphone: sleek design, compact size, powerful chipset, and class picture processing. Available since October 2019, the Pixel 4 XL will be replaced with a new set of Smartphones. The Pixel 4 XL is not jewel-like like other flagships; its main asset remains its ease of use, and to maintain acceptable weight, Pixel devices usually integrate lighter-capacity batteries. With 3700 mAh, let’s see where Pixel 4 XL can stand in front of the competition. The screen size remains compact and integrates a 90 Hz maxi adaptative refresh rate, animated by a powerful but efficient Snapdragon 855 and pure Android. Release Date: October 2019 Product Features and Specifications Design: Soft-touch glass back, Water Resistant Camera:  Dual 12.2MP Battery:  1.5 days of use/ 3700mAh Display: 6.3 QHD + Flexible OLED at 537 PPI Size: 160.4 x 75.1 x 8.2 mm Weight: 193g Memory: 64GB or 128GB and 6GB RAM Chipset: Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 855 Operating System: Android 10 Battery Performance Introduction The Google Pixel 4XL is a Flagship/Pro Tier (700 Euro +). It has an adaptive refresh rate, so switching 90 Auto on will not impact much battery life while increasing fluidity. The overall Battery Performance Score is now a global score taking calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency and Charging Times. From the Goole Pixel 4 XL test results, we gave this Smartphone a ViserMark Battery Performance Score of 46. The Battery Performance Label being further from 100 indicates that this is not one of the best-performing phones. It has been ranked 49th among the best battery-performance smartphones, as tested by SmartViser. Testing Results BATTERY LIFE - Days of Use Through the ViserMark test protocol, the Google Pixel 4XL obtained a Battery Life Score of 1.5 Days of Use. The average ViserMark Battery Life score of Flashship/Pro Tier Smartphones is 1.6 Days of Use. This means this Battery Life performs below average, placing the Google Pixel 4 XL lower on the ViserMark Battery Life autonomy ranking. Test Graphics Our testing is based on smartphone usage from 100% battery level down to Power Off. When testing Smartphones, the testing protocol includes everyday life activities, for instance, Calls, Web, Video and Music streaming, Gaming, Social networks, Picture and video capture and standby. All testing is performed under strictly controlled test conditions and executed in a defined order and timeline. We have been positively surprised by the Pixel 4 XL's performance. We have been using the default QHD+ resolution, changing only the refresh rate from 60 Hz to 90 Hz Auto. The Google Pixel 4 XL achieved a Battery Life of 1.5 Days of Use in the two different configurations. We were not expecting the Pixel 4 XL at this performance level, and the Pixel 4 XL platform (Hardware and OS) looks pretty efficient. It will be able to deliver a good battery life experience. Several power-efficient smartphone processors can cope with the growing number of new applications and support high-resolution displays without compromising battery life. Power Efficiency is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power-efficient. The Google Pixel 4 XL achieved an overall Power Efficiency Score of 1.5 Smartphone for Power Efficiency: Ranking #46 Conclusion The Google Pixel 4 XL's Battery Performance Score was 46, slightly lower than other flagship/pro-tier smartphones. However, we were not expecting the Google Pixel 4 XL at this performance level regardless, as it only has a 3700 mAh battery capacity. This phone is great for end-users who enjoy simplicity and efficiency. Despite its small battery, the Google Pixel 4 XL performs better than the Samsung S20 Ultra (42). But it is behind other main competitors, such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (50) and the Apple iPhone (57). ViserMark tests are performed with the strictest protocol in a controlled environment to ensure repetition and consistency. They are powered and automated by SmartViser’s test automation solution viSer. The automation test includes a variety of user actions, from calls to social media and periods of standby times. • Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro - Smartphone Battery Performance

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro - A Good Smartphone with a Wonderful Design, Screen, and Speakers. SMARTPHONE TIER: MID Battery Capacity mAh: 5000 Smartphone Battery Performance Overall Score: 50/100 Overall Battery Performance Score: Ranking #47 Mid Tier Ranking: Ranking #6 We have listed what you need to know about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro. Overview As a follow-up to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro released in 2021, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro offers 5G over its predecessor with a few other minor tweaks. The smartphone is similar in size but slightly heavier, with a sleek design. Using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, it is a more robust mobile phone yet more restricted in its capabilities; one such example is that it can only support display resolutions up to 1080p. However, it has a tremendous 120Hz display that is finished with a glass back frosted surface, which, while it does a great job of resisting fingerprints, is nonetheless marked after a few minutes of use by the natural grease from our palms. Numerous popular features are included in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro, including stereo speakers, a microSD expansion slot, FM radio, a 3.5mm audio connector, NFC, an IR blaster, and an overview of solid battery performance. Like the other Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 devices, it runs Android 11 and the most recent MIUI 13 version, which has significant internal upgrades that provide a better and quicker experience both now and over the course of the next few years, thanks to numerous improvements. According to reports, the new update prioritizes significantly better resource allocation and should handle processor, RAM, and storage utilization better and more intelligently. The goal of MIUI 13 is to monitor how much RAM and processor are being used at any one time and suspend any superfluous processes to free up resources and improve performance. Xiaomi states that background process optimization will rise by up to 40% versus the earlier version. Unlike other high-end devices, rugged smartphones do not come equipped with OLED screens and may lack some expected features despite their price tag. There are currently no other rugged smartphones available in the Mid Tier price range (€200-€499), except for the RugGear 750. However, a similarly rugged smartphone was designed for outdoor activities called the Crosscall Core Z5, launched in late 2022. Despite being priced in the Flagship/Pro Tier (€700+), this device underwent testing at ViserMark labs and produced test results worth further examination. The Crosscall Core Z5 was the first 5G smartphone specifically designed and developed for the most challenging environments. This device is compatible with the latest networks, such as 5G and WiFi 6/6E, like the RugGear 750, and has an impressive 5-year warranty. The Crosscall Core Z5 is powered by a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm QCM6490 Octa-Core processor, often used as a high-end SoC (System on Chip) for smartphones, meaning it can handle extreme usage requirements. With the high-speed Qualcomm QCM4290 processor, ideal for Mid Tier smartphones, the RugGear 750 has the Kryo260 CPU architecture, LTE Cat13, and Wi-Fi 6-Ready connectivity. Let's see if the battery performance test results can reveal significant improvements for the RugGear 750 compared to the Crosscall Core Z5 rugged smartphone. Other smartphone Battery Performance Scores can be viewed as ViserMark Labels in the Smartphone Ranking Table. Battery Life Smartphone battery life performance can vary significantly depending on several factors, including device hardware, software optimisation, battery capacity, usage patterns, and individual settings. When contemplating smartphone battery life, focus on these areas: The battery capacity, usually measured in milliampere-hours (mAh), determines how much charge a battery can store. The Battery Life ViserMark Label displays the "Days-of-Use" in both actual days and provides accurate information in hours. It reflects the usage of a smartphone from a full charge. How long will the RugGear 750 battery last? At ViserMark, we recognise that battery life is an important aspect to consider when choosing a smartphone. We are excited to share that the RugGear 750 showcased a commendable battery performance, lasting an average of 2.5 days with an impressive 68 hours between charges. The RugGear 750 has a slightly larger battery capacity of 5,000mAh than the 4,950mAh battery of the Crosscall Core Z5. As you can see from the chart below, the RugGear 750 managed to gain over half a day of battery life. See the chart below. Crosscall states that the battery life is 800 charging cycles and that ultra-fast charging takes 42 minutes to 50% charge. Other smartphone Battery Life results can be viewed as ViserMark Labels in the Smartphone Ranking Table. All smartphone chipsets are designed to deliver high performance while consuming minimal power to optimise system resources for improved efficiency. Manufacturers are continuously making minor improvements to balance smartphone performance and energy efficiency. These include the management of background processes and improved app organisation, which enhance resource allocation so power consumption can be minimised. Other smartphone Battery Efficiency results can be viewed as ViserMark Labels in the Smartphone Ranking Table. Annual Energy Consumption ViserMark is pleased to offer a new label providing a smartphone's Annual Energy Consumption. The calculation is typically based on several factors, including the smartphone model, battery capacity, usage patterns, and charging habits. Although challenging, specific testing criteria are measured using real-life scenarios and live networks to reflect usage accurately. How much energy does the RugGear 750 use? The ViserMark calculations show the RugGear 750 would use 2.4 kWh per Annum. The chart shows that the RugGear 750 has a lower Annual Energy Consumption than the Crosscall Core Z5. As seen below. Daily activities greatly influence energy consumption. For instance, frequent use of power-intensive apps, heavy gaming, or prolonged video streaming can drain the battery faster, resulting in higher energy consumption. Conversely, conservative usage and enabling power-saving features can reduce energy consumption. ViserMark's battery performance testing protocol ensures end-users can see an objective benchmark across all smartphones' expected annual electricity consumption. Other smartphones' Annual Energy Consumption results can be viewed as ViserMark Labels in the Smartphone Ranking Table. Should I buy it? If you're looking for a smartphone that can handle tough jobs and environments, the RugGear 750 is an excellent choice. This device is built to be rugged and reliable, offering accurate GPS and connectivity for seamless communication. • Apple iPhone 14 Plus - Battery Performance Score

SMARTPHONE TIER: FLAGSHIP/PRO Battery Capacity mAh: 4323 Apple iPhone 14 Plus - Bigger and even Better on Battery Performance Smartphone Battery Performance Overall Score: 44/100 Overall Battery Performance Score: Ranking #75 Flagship/Pro Ranking: #3 Credit Image: Apple This review offers all you need to know about the Apple iPhone 14 Plus smartphone. Overview We welcome the new iPhone 14 series consisting of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Apple iPhone 14 Plus offers everything the iPhone 14 does, although it does benefit from a larger 6.7-inch display and a bigger battery capacity. It is neatly positioned in the middle of the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro, although it doesn't have the higher price tag of the iPhone 14 Pro, making it a little more desirable. Following in the footsteps of the iPhone 13 series, the iPhone 14 Plus has hardly changed in design. It retains its glossy appearance and has an aluminium frame with flattened sides. Also, it is much lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro and comfortable to hold. The iPhone 14 Plus is available in Blue, Purple, Yellow, Midnight, Starlight, and (Product) Red and is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. As mentioned, the iPhone 14 Plus has a larger display and excellent battery life; this could be a good reason to select this device over the smaller iPhone 14. However, there is a drawback: it only has a 60Hz refresh rate compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and other competitors' offerings. Using ProMotion technology, the iPhone 14 Pro Max takes advantage of its 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring users gain a more responsive experience with smooth scrolling, especially when gaming. The iPhone 14 Plus joins the Flagship/Pro (€700 +), although less expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro that can also be found in this tier. What's it like to Use? The iPhone 14 Plus has its new 6.7-inch Retina XDR OLED screen with an HDR display of 2778 x 1284 pixels. Also applied is the Apple Ceramic Shield o n the glass for shattering proofing, and an oleophobic coating does help with the fingerprints and smudges Powered by an A15 Bionic chipset, the iPhone 14 Plus uses five GPU cores, helping to deliver a smoother user experience. Also, Apple has chosen to incorporate new software features in the iPhone 14 Plus, such as Photonic Engine and Action mode, which are only currently available in the iPhone 14 series. The Photonic Engine can capture more detailed images and render brighter colours, and the Action mode allows for smooth handheld videos. Like the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus has 3 cameras. The main camera has been upgraded with a larger sensor, with more upgrades for the selfie camera. Autofocus has been introduced, allowing for much closer selfies and impressive photo quality. This is not all, as there is the phase detection autofocus. This latest feature, used by Apple, is considered the best autofocus technology to complement standard contrast detection and is used by other leading smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony. The iPhone 14 series comes with 6GB of RAM, a step up from the 4GB in the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 14 Plus comes with 3 storage options being 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It is worth noting that storage options can not be changed or expanded after purchase. After prolonged usage, the iPhone can get slightly hot. To help overcome this issue, the iPhone 14 Plus does have built-in protections to prevent overheating. This involves the device protecting its internal components by attempting to regulate its temperature. How does it perform? Like all new iPhones, the iPhone 14 Plus is run on Apple iOS 16, and its interface has widgets and apps located on the home screen, with an App Library and Notification and Control Centers. Also, Face ID or PIN allows you to bypass the lockscreen. The iPhone 14 Plus iOS 16 has many improvements to enhance better performance. One such refinement is that notifications now appear from the bottom of the screen. Also, the Visual Lookup feature now uses advanced machine learning. Within photos or videos, items like pets, plants, and landmarks can be identified, and further information is provided. One attribute supported by all smartphones in the new iPhone 14 series is the Emergency SOS feature. Using satellite technology, essential information can be texted to emergency services outside cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. This feature is integrated into Apple's Crash Detection, designed to detect severe car crashes - such as front-impact, side-impact, and rear-end collisions and rollovers. So when the iPhone 14 Plus detects a severe crash, it will sound an alarm, display an alert, and automatically connect to emergency services providing the device location as latitude and longitude coordinates. You should know you can turn off alerts and automatic emergency calls after a severe car crash. What else is in the box? Apple has maintained its minimal packaging design, so not much has changed from the previous iPhone 13 series. In the eco-friendly box are a USB-C to Lightning cable, documentation, a SIM ejector (if you have a non-US model), and an Apple sticker. A power adapter is not in the box; use an existing charger with the USB-C connector. A Quick Summary The new iPhone 14 Plus still has the same design, display, chipset, and battery as its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Plus. However, some noteworthy enhancements include upgraded main and selfie cameras, Emergency SOS satellite connectivity, improved graphics and battery performance. Product - Good Points The iPhone 14 Plus has the following features: lightweight and durable design excellent battery life satellite connectivity - Emergency SOS and Crash Detection great camera system good stereo speakers reliable flagship tier device with all-round performance IP68-rated dust and water resistant Product - Be Aware of Points The iPhone 14 Plus lacks in performance in the following ways: only has a 60Hz display screen refresh not upgraded to the Apple A16 Bionic no telephoto zoom poor charging speed comes with no charging adapter Smartphone Battery Performance Score and Battery Performance Results ViserMark brings you a Smartphone Performance Score based on different criteria and benchmarks for evaluating a smartphone's performance. Although the iPhone 14 Plus has achieved a higher score, there is only a smaller gap between the other devices, emphasising the competitiveness of the latest smartphone being launched. Globally available from March 2023, the Xiaomi 13 Pro offered improvements in both design and performance. With an impressive camera system, co-engineered with Leica, it benefitted from wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses and new apps made it faster and easier to use. Alongside the iPhone 14 Plus, its display of 6.7 inches matches, yet it weighs 210 g and is heavier than the 203 g of the iPhone 14 Plus. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has the largest display of 6.8 inches, has the biggest battery capacity of 5000 mAh and consequently weighs 234 g. Samsung improved the S pen experience and introduced new software features that include Air Command, Air actions, Air view, Screen off memos, and Quick Notes to help users make the most of it. Let us discover if our battery performance testing results can show more key improvements. Other smartphone battery performance results can be seen in the Flagship/Pro Tier Ranking table. Battery Life A smartphone's battery life performance can vary significantly depending on several factors, including hardware, software optimisation, battery capacity, usage patterns, and individual settings. How long will the iPhone 14 Plus battery last? ViserMark is pleased to announce that the iPhone 14 Plus delivers on battery performance. With an impressive 2.5 days of use, translating into 56 hours between charges, it has an impressive battery performance and one of its ultimate features. Apple iPhone 14 Plus Smartphone Battery Life Ratings Looking at the three comparative smartphones, there is more differentiation than expected. Apple has dominated the Flagship/Pro Tier and continues to do so with the iPhone 14 Plus. With the introduction of hours added to the ViserMark Battery Life Label, it is even easier to see just how competitive the devices are in their functionality and unique capabilities. Comparison of Smartphones in the Flagship/Pro Tier As used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the 5000 mAh battery capacity is popular among smartphone manufacturers. A larger battery capacity helps to ensure smooth performance and an excellent all-around user experience. Activities like gaming, video streaming, or using resource-intensive apps can consume more power than tasks like texting or checking emails. One of the most power-hungry components of a smartphone is the display. The iPhone 14 Plus and the Xiaomi 13 Pro have 6.7-inch displays, larger than their predecessors. However, more recently, smaller batteries have been used. For example, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is powered by a 4820 mAh battery and even smaller, with 4323 mAh, is the iPhone 14 Plus. ViserMark under battery performance is essential to smartphone users. We also appreciate that manufacturers consider this area important to ensure a great user experience. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chip, meaning both have an extra GPU core. This helps to improve cooling within the device and ensures increased performance. Please note that all devices take advantage of pre-set features like adaptive brightness, which automatically adjusts screen brightness based on ambient lighting and can help conserve battery life. Also, more manufacturers offer regular software and security updates so that smartphones can benefit from further optimisations to enhance battery performance. The iPhone 14 Plus, like other devices in the 14 series, are supported for at least six years’ worth of iOS updates. Other smartphone battery performance results can be seen in the Flagship/Pro Tier Ranking table. Power Efficiency Smartphone Power Efficiency is crucial for smartphone users as it directly impacts battery life and overall device usage. It refers to the ability of a smartphone to maximise its performance while minimising power consumption. Calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity and expressed in "Leaves", it reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power efficient. Apple iPhone 14 Plus Smartphone Battery Efficiency Results How power efficient is the iPhone 14 Plus? The iPhone 14 Plus was awarded 2 out of 5 as a smartphone battery efficiency score. When tested for battery efficiency, this exceeds the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which obtained a rating of 1 out of 5. Comparison of Smartphones in the Flagship/Pro Tier All the latest smartphone chipsets deliver high performance while consuming minimal power to optimise system resources for improved efficiency. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Pro use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Apple has opted for the A15 Bionic for the iPhone 14 Plus. While the exterior looks identical to other smartphones in the iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 14 Plus's internal workings have been significantly redesigned by moving the internal components by 180 degrees. As a result, the device can be opened from the back and the front. This makes repairing the display and the back glass panel extremely easy. The Power Efficiency of more smartphones can be viewed. How much energy does the iPhone 14 Plus use? The ViserMark calculations show the iPhone 14 Plus would use 2.5 kWh per Annum. When tested, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra used 3.4 kWh, and the Xiaomi 13 Pro was the same. Apple iPhone 14 Plus Annual Energy Consumption Results A smartphone's battery capacity plays a significant role in determining energy consumption. Devices with larger batteries of 5000 mAh, like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, tend to consume more energy than the iPhone 14 Plus and Xiaomi 13 Pro, which both have smaller batteries because it stores more energy. Comparison of Smartphones in the Flagship/Pro Tier Daily activities greatly influence energy consumption. For instance, frequent use of power-intensive apps, heavy gaming, or prolonged video streaming can drain the battery faster, resulting in higher energy consumption. Conversely, conservative usage and enabling power-saving features can reduce energy consumption. Through ViserMark's battery performance testing protocol, end-users can see an objective benchmark across all devices on their smartphone's expected annual electricity consumption. Should I buy it? The iPhone 14 Plus is one of the lightest 6.7-inch phones now available, and it easily matches the functionality and capability of other flagship smartphones, perhaps one of the best iPhones that Apple has manufactured. The new design and features of the iPhone 14 Plus, including upgraded cameras, offer as much performance as the iPhone 14 Pro version. Its larger display is an added bonus. Its larger battery capacity helps to extend the impressive battery performance, and its price tag is also an attractive reason to consider this smartphone over others in the iPhone 14 series and other alternative devices. From a repairability perspective, the effort in rearranging components allows for the display and glass back panel to be mended if broken. However, the new design of the iPhone 14 Plus hasn't been incorporated into the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which may be the standard adopted for the iPhone 15 series of smartphones. The only drawback could be the lack of a higher refresh rate. With 60Hz, the iPhone 14 Plus could be improved, although, with an all-around performance, users of this smartphone may not even notice. • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5- Smartphone Battery Performance

SMARTPHONE TIER: FLAGSHIP/PRO Battery Capacity mAh: 3700 Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 - Sophisticated and Practical Smartphone Battery Performance Score: 39/100 Overall Battery Performance Ranking: #103 Based on Price Flagship/Pro Ranking: #3 All you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone. Quick Summary The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, the latest model of foldable smartphones from Samsung, was recently launched. It has a 3.4-inch cover screen, significantly improving from its predecessor's 1.9-inch display in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. Due to its foldable design, it is highly portable and space-saving, making it an ideal choice for people who are always on the move. However, its suitability may depend on the size and style of your pocket or purse. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 folds effortlessly and has a larger outer screen, making it more compact and convenient. Although some features, such as the processor and camera, remain unchanged, it performs better and captures higher-quality photos than its predecessor. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Overview What's it like to Use? Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, users can expect subtle yet significant improvements that solidify its position as the go-to choice in its relatively uncompetitive market niche. Notably, the cover screen has been significantly improved, making the device much more practical, and the hinge mechanism has been revamped to allow for a flat fold, eliminating the annoying edge formation. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 now boasts a new chipset, 256GB of base storage, and minor adjustments to the camera and internal display's brightness. While the phone's size hasn't changed much, the outer screen has been expanded to offer users much more utility than its predecessor. It's worth mentioning, however, that the display's crease (a common issue with foldable smartphones) is still noticeable, although users tend to grow accustomed to it over time. Balancing familiarity and innovation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is an excellent choice for those who want a refined and advanced foldable smartphone experience. This is especially true in a market that has limited alternatives. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 boasts a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED primary screen with a 2640 x 1080 pixels resolution. The primary screen has an adaptive refresh rate that can shift smoothly from 1Hz to 120Hz, making it more power-efficient. The screen is protected by ultra-thin glass (UTG) and delivers stunning visuals with vibrant colours, high contrast, and outstanding viewing angles. Moreover, it has an impressive peak brightness of 1750 nits, enhancing its outdoor visibility. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's interface includes various display features such as dark mode, adjustable brightness, colour profiles, and support for an ever-present display. Overall, the primary screen offers an impressive visual experience with better readability outdoors, making it a crucial aspect of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's design. How does it Perform? The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 maintains the same aesthetic design as its predecessors, particularly the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. It features a polished Armor Aluminum frame that matches the device's colour, with precise, sleek corners and a flat back. The most notable change in design is the placement of the dual circular camera lenses, which are now arranged horizontally in the upper-left corner instead of vertically. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 has a glossy black due to the expanded cover display, creating a subtle colour palette with less intensity. The Mint colour option is available, but more vibrant choices like blue, green, grey, and yellow are only offered on Samsung.com. A thinner profile has improved the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 design thanks to the updated water-drop hinge. This allows the phone to close completely flat, resulting in a 2mm reduction in thickness compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The hinge maintains the sturdy Flex Hinge feel and allows for Flex Mode, which optimises the user interface placement. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is still resistant to water with an IPX8 rating, and it features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for durability. However, the phone now has a reflective glass finish instead of a textured one, which makes it more susceptible to minor scratches. Despite the lack of official dust protection certification, independent tests have shown that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 can withstand over 400,000 folds. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 comes in a small black box featuring a miniature version of the handset in the same colour as the actual device. What's in the box? More smartphone Annual Energy Consumption ratings in the Smartphone Ranking Table. VERDICT Should I buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5? The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is considered by many to be the best foldable Android smartphone available. It offers a unique and attractive experience, with exceptional screen and camera quality. It boasts a new, improved Flex Window, exceptional build quality, and reliable rear cameras. As Samsung's thinnest and most refined foldable phone to date, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is worth considering. This phone is a top performer, equipped with a 3.4-inch asymmetrical cover display, a revamped gapless hinge, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset. With its many features, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 includes the Flex Window, an impressive build quality and camera capabilities. It may not be as sturdy as a traditional smartphone nor ideal for those prioritising long battery life, versatile photography, or extensive external screen features. It's important to carefully consider your preferences before making a purchase. Remember that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is a distinctive and user-friendly phone that values aesthetics, innovation, and Samsung's top-notch display and camera. It's especially worth considering during promotions or price drops. The OPPO Find N2 Flip boasts a sleek, robust design that rivals the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5. Its 6.8-inch screen is bigger than the Xiaomi 13 Pro's non-foldable 6.73-inch display. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 has a primary Full HD+ AMOLED screen measuring 6.7 inches and is the lightest of all three comparable smartphones, weighing 187 g. The most exciting feature Xiaomi has introduced on the Xiaomi 13 Pro is the impressive camera system, co-engineered with Leica. Benefitting from wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, the design of the camera app is faster and easier to use. Also, a 1-inch ultra-large sensor provides a massive light-sensitive area, more powerful light absorption and better imaging resolution. Often, foldable smartphones suffer from insufficient camera functionality and quality. However, this is not the case with OPPO Find N2 Flip. Powered by Sony's IMX890 sensor (as used in the OnePlus 11), the OPPO's MariSilican X imaging NPU assists with image processing. Although lacking in optical image stabilisation, OPPO's camera technology is impressive. The hinge mechanism can support the phone at any angle between 45 and 110 degrees, enabling interesting camera usage, including tripod mode, waist-level shooting and 'camcorder' mode.
